I must admit we weren’t expecting too many pasta dishes from Finland but this has been submitted by @dragonblaze on Twitter and is very much welcome. Don’t ask me to pronounce it but apparently the literal translation is “cheese-meat macaroni bake”.
Serves 2
Elbow macaroni 200g
Minced beef 400g
Onion 1, finely diced
Garlic 2-4 cloves, crushed
Milk 700ml
Egg 1, beaten
Emmental 200g, grated
Olive oil
Salt & pepper
Herbs of your choice
Preheat overn to 200’C.
Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the onions and garlic and fry until soft. Add the beef. Brown, then season.
At the same time, boil a pan of salted water and cook the pasta and then drain.
Mix all the ingredients together in a baking dish. Throw in some fresh herbs if you have any knocking around.
Bake for 1 hour.
Thanks, DB.
